Michelle has spent her budding career working in commercial real estate and residential real estate since entering the legal field in 2014. A bilingual native of South Florida, Michelle attended Florida International University in Miami, Florida where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy. She proceeded to graduate Cum Laude in 2014 with a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida. Michelle was an Articles Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review where she assisted in the oversight of legal publications. While on the Law Review, she was twice published, with the Wake Forest Journal of Business & Intellectual Property Law and the University of Denver Sports & Entertainment Law Journal.
After passing the Florida Bar, Michelle worked in commercial real estate and as a contract attorney before moving to North Carolina. Before joining Brownlee Whitlow & Praet, PLLC, she worked as a residential real estate paralegal specializing in REO closings for a firm in Raleigh, NC. During this time, she gained a wealth of knowledge in the field of North Carolina residential real estate law prior to passing the North Carolina State Bar exam. Now licensed in Florida and North Carolina, Michelle has brought her unique background and experience to the team in September 2018. As an Associate, Michelle's practice focuses primarily on commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, and leasing, and related issues.
When not practicing law, Michelle can be found with her husband and dog, Brady, as well as watching football, exercising, cooking, and searching for the best cup of coffee in the Triangle area.
